  • Send assistive/adaptive technology or personal sensory objects that your child needs/uses on a regular basis, such as noise-canceling headphones, wobble seat cushions, personal fidgets, etc. Although we have a few sensory objects in our quiet sensory room, we do not have enough available for your child to use on a regular basis.
  • Yes, we are a new school and would be grateful for your support. You can donate in 1 of 2 ways:
    1. Donate materials and supplies. These are always needed and very much appreciated.

  • We have chosen not to pursue accreditation at this time.
  • At Connected to Learn, our unique approach to education and our specialized programs fall outside the scope of traditional accreditation standards.
  • It is also important to us to maintain a high degree of autonomy and flexibility in our curriculum, teaching methods, and policies. Accreditation often comes with certain requirements and standards that schools must meet, which can limit their freedom to innovate and customize their educational approach.
  • We are confident that our curriculum and delivery will meet or exceed defined standards and that the Connected to Learn experience will prepare students to be self-directed learners, confident problem solvers, and compassionate leaders.
  • Although we do not offer formal special education services, we work to ensure that each of our student’s individual academic needs are met. We skillfully provide appropriate accommodations and/or modifications as needed to help our students become successful in the learning process.
  • Although we do not formally acknowledge IEPs, it would be helpful to have copies of your child’s past IEPs to better understand their specific needs.
  • Gretchen Cheney, one of our directors, has 18 years of experience teaching special education. She will help direct your child’s educational placement and support with the greatest care.
  • We do not offer speech therapy at this time. However, we use bone conduction headphones during our brain integration program for those with auditory processing deficits.
  • If your child has a cell phone, he or she is welcome to bring it to school and store it in his or her cubby. We are not responsible for damaged, lost, or stolen phones.
  • Your child is welcome to contact you before or after school and in case of an emergency. Students who do not have a cell phone are able to use the school phone.
  • We firmly believe that students need time to disconnect from their phones in order to connect in healthy ways.

Connected to Learn is a faith-based school with an intention to create a culture of unity and love. While we do not formally provide Christian education, some subjects or discussions about God, faith, or other religious topics may occasionally arise. As these situations present, our school supports a non-denominational Christian focus.
